Tourtoirac: a land of history and culture

We have chosen to live there!

Tourtoirac is a pretty riverside village, at the centre of which is the historic abbey of Saint-Pierre-es-Liens and the remains of the old Benedictine monastery from the 12th and 13th century Roman period.

Within a 10 minute walk you will find a riverside bar / bistro, a restaurant, a traditional bakery, a grocery shop and a beautiful river for paddling.

A 5 minute drive away on the outskirts of the village are some fascinating caves - La Grotte de Tourtoirac.

Tourtoirac also hosts an annual week-long music festival in August (genres ranging from classical, jazz and Celtic) and for keen cyclists, the Lawrence of Arabia route runs through the village.
